چکیده

Microspheres based on the bioactive glass S53P4 were successfully produced through flame-spraying. Glass 13–93 microspheres utilised as a reference composition with known behaviour in flame spheroidisation. Bioactive (BGMs) enable range of advantages compared to conventional irregular-shaped particles. The BGMs size ranges 45–90 and 90–125 µm characterised by DTA, SEM/EDXA, FTIR, XRD. Dynamic dissolution experiments carried out using TRIS buffer SBF (pH 7.4) for 72 h. ion concentrations solutions measured ICP-OES. vitro bioactivity results indicated that hydroxyapatite (HA) layer was thicker larger spheres after SBF. According SEM-EDXA results, showed more rapid formation than 13–93. thermal properties similar particles parent glasses. suggest have an excellent potential future clinical applications.

Processing and Characterisation of High-velocity Suspension Flame Sprayed (hvsfs) Bioactive Glass Coatings

The High-Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS) technique was employed in order to deposit bioactive glass coatings onto titanium substrates. Two different glass compositions were examined: the classical 45S5 Bioglass and a newly-developed SiO2–CaO–K2O–P2O5 glass, labelled as “Bio-K”. Suitable raw materials were melted in a furnace and fritted by casting into water. The frit was dry-milled ...

Preparation and characterization of fluorapatite-bioactive glass S53P4 nanocomposite

This research has been done to study characteristic and biocompatible evaluation of a nano-biocompositeceramic with the bioglass (BG) as a first phase. In this regard, synthesis of S53P4 (53% SiO2, 4% P2O5,23% Na2O and 20% CaO) bioglass has been considered as the first phase and flourapatite (FA) consideredas the second phase. Afterwards, nanocomposite with the base of S53P4 b...

Composites made of flame-sprayed bioactive glass 45S5 and polymers: bioactivity and immediate sealing properties.

AIM To engineer systems using polyisoprene (PI) or polycaprolactone (PCL) and nanometric bioactive glass 45S5 (BG) that could create a hydroxyapatite interface and thus ultimately make the use of an endodontic sealer unnecessary. METHODOLOGY Different composites using PI or PCL as matrix material were prepared with BG contents of up to 30 wt%. Unfilled PI and PCL, commercially available fille...

In vitro surface reaction layer formation and dissolution of calcium phosphate cement-bioactive glass composites.

Composites of hydrated calcium phosphate cement (CPC) and bioactive glass (BG) containing Si were immersed in vitro to study the effect of chemical composition on surface reaction layer formation and dissolution/precipitation behavior. The solutions used were 0.05 M tris hydroxymethyl aminomethane/HCl (tris buffer), tris buffer supplemented with plasma electrolyte (TE) with pH 7.4 at 37 degrees...

Comparison of the effects of 45S5 and 1393 bioactive glass microparticles on hMSC behavior

Bioactive glasses (BAGs) are highly interesting materials for bone regeneration applications in orthopedic and dental defects. It is quite well known that ionic release from BAGs influences cell behavior and function. Mindful of the clinical scenario, we hypothesized that local cell populations might additionally physically interact with the implanted BAG particles and respond differently than ...
